UPDATE: The CW reveals dates for its four-way DC crossover

August 3, 2017 by Gary Collinson

The CW is set to bring its four DC shows – Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – together once again this fall, and unlike last year’s ‘Invasion’, this will be a full-on four-way crossover spanning the entirety of the four shows.

During the Television Critics Association press tour, CW president Mark Pedowitz has now revealed that the crossover will air across two nights on November 27th and November 28th, with Arrow moving temporarily from its Thursday slot to Monday, where it will be paired with Supergirl.

“Last year’s (crossover) was the most successful week in CW history in terms of ratings and everything, said Pedowitz. “We felt in this particular case we had Flash on Legends paired, so it was better to make it two two-hour movies – a miniseries – we thought this was the best way to go. We had a lot of conversations with producers and marketing people. Next year, we might go back to four nights.”

UPDATE: Executive producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim have also been chatting about the crossover to IGN:

“Our way of making the show bigger this year was to go even more personal, so it’s a big life event for a few different people on the show,” said Berlanti, who was then asked if this could include a wedding, responding that: “There are many life events that happen.”

“We’re really approaching this big four-part event as two back-to-back two hour movies, and I think when you look at it through that lens, it becomes less important for the Supergirl episode to feel like a Supergirl episode and the Arrow episode to feel like an Arrow episode, which was always our approach in the past,” added Guggenheim.

Supergirl returns to The CW on Monday, October 9th, followed by The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow on Tuesday, October 10th, and Arrow on its new night of Thursdays, starting October 12th.
