DCEU Cyborg recasting rumours debunked, character will not appear in The Flash movie

January 7, 2021 by Samuel Brace

It seems the rumour that Warner Bros. is looking to recast Cyborg in the DCEU after actor Ray Fisher’s clash with the studio has turned out to be false.

It’s fair to say the relationship between Cyborg actor Ray Fisher and Warner Bros. could be better. The actor has not been shy about expressing his displeasure with the way things are at the studio, especially as it pertains to his experience making Justice League.

A rumour has since surfaced that the studio was looking to recast the role of Cyborg in the aftermath of these events, however, this has now been debunked. Writer Mark Hughes took to Twitter to put the matter to bed, clearly stating that there is no credibility to the rumour, nor to reports about Cyborg still being part of The Flash movie.

“The rumors of Cyborg recasting are a lie, Cyborg is not in The Flash and the role is not being recast. I’ve confirmed this with the studio. The rumor is FALSE.”

Perhaps Fisher was having talks about the Flash which have now fallen through. Whatever the case, it seems if Cyborg is going to stay part of the DCEU going forward, it will be with Fisher in the role. However, Fisher has said that he will not be involved with any production associated with DC Films chief Walter Hamada, whose contract with Warner Bros. has just been renewed through to 2023.
