The Expendables 4 casts Iko Uwais as main villain

October 27, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Shortly after the announcement that Sylvester Stallone has wrapped filming on the fourth instalment of The Expendables franchise, Deadline is now reporting that The Raid star Iko Uwais has been cast as the main villain.

Uwais will be starring alongside Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture who are reprising their roles from the first three movies as well as Megan Fox, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Tony Jaa and Andy Garcia. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know The Expendables 4 is being directed by Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) from a script by Spenser Cohen, Max Adams, and John Joseph Connolly.

Earlier this month, not only did series co-creator Sylvester Stallone announce that he had wrapped filming as Barney Ross on The Expendables 4 but he also revealed that this latest instalment will be his last one and he will be leaving the series in the hands of co-star Jason Statham. The fourth instalment has not had the smoothest development schedule as Stallone previously pulled out of the project due to creative differences and disagreements with producer Avi Lerner.

The Expendables 4 will release in 2022.
