Now that The Flash has finally completed its protracted journey to the big-screen, DC leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran have wasted no time in officially announcing that director Andy Muschietti will direct Batman movie The Brave and the Bold.
Announced as one of the flagship titles during the great DC shake-up, Muschietti had been linked to The Brave and the Bold for a while, but with The Flash currently sat at 67% on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and predicted to open with $155 million worldwide, it appears that Warner Bros. and DC are happy to keep him onboard with Batman.
As per Variety’s story, James Gunn confirmed the news by effusively telling them “We saw ‘The Flash’; even before taking the reins at DC Studios, and knew we were in the hands of not only a visionary director but a massive DC fan. It’s a magnificent film – funny, emotional, thrilling – and Andy’s affinity and passion for these characters and this world just resonates through every frame. So, when it came time to find a director for The Brave and the Bold, there was really only one choice. Luckily, Andy said yes. Barbara signed on to produce with us and we were on our way. They’re an extraordinary team, and we couldn’t have better or more inspiring partners as we embark on this thrilling new adventure in the DCU.”
The Brave and the Bold will be part of Gunn and Sarfan’s first wave of DCU projects, titled “Gods and Monsters” it will include Superman: Legacy, a Green Lanterns TV series, a Wonder-Woman prequel show, and a Supergirl feature film.

Based on the comic series written by Grant Morrison, The Brave and the Bold is a story of Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, who takes on the iconic role of Robin to fight alongside his father.
