The Zombie Wedding trailer brings the Weekly World News to the movies

August 19, 2024 by Gary Collinson

The Weekly World News is back and bringing its blend of outlandish tabloid “journalism” to the movies, with Freestyle Digital Media sharing a trailer and poster for The Zombie Wedding, a new zom-rom-com which kicks off a slate of projects from Weekly World News Studios.

Directed by Micah Khan from a script by Greg D’Alessandro, The Zombie Wedding features a cast that includes Cheri Oteri (Saturday Night Live), Seth Gilliam (The Walking Dead), Heather Matarazzo (Scream), Kevin Chamberlin (Jessie), Siobhan Fallon Hogan (Men in Black), Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos), Ajay Naidu (Office Space), and The Monkees’ Micky Dolenz. Take a look at the poster and trailer below…

The Zombie Wedding tells the story of what happens when a young New Jersey couple decides to go through with their dream wedding – during the Zombie Apocalypse. Unfortunately, the bride is a human, and the groom is a zombie. Both families are fearful, but the humans’ behavior is downright beastly. When the Zombies become brain-deprived, the ceremony takes a turn for the weird. Weekly World News reporters cover this wild, wacky wedding – while trying to get out alive!

The Zombie Wedding is set for release on September 13th 2024.
