Tilda Swinton & Julianne Moore star in the trailer for Pedro Almodóvar’s critically acclaimed The Room Next Door

September 25, 2024 by Matt Rodgers

Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Pedro Almodóvar’s feature-length English Language debut, The Room Next Door, which stars the powerhouse duo of Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore as two-friends reuniting under difficult circumstances.

The film has been wowing audiences on the festival circuits and screens as part of this year’s BFI London Film Festival. Written and directed by the Pain and Glory and The Skin I Live In filmmaker, The Room Next Door is based on Sigrid Nunez’s 2020 novel What Are You Going Through, and also stars John Turturro, Alex Høgh Andersen, and Esther McGregor. Watch the trailer below…

Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.

The Room Next Door is released in cinemas on October 25th in the UK and on December 20th in the US.
