Troubled reboot of The Crow could lose fourth director Corin Hardy

September 25, 2015 by Tom Beasley

Director Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is set to become the fourth director to pull out of the upcoming remake of 1994 comic book adaptation The Crow, according to The Wrap.

SEE ALSO: The Crow creator James O’Barr says the remake “definitely will happen”

The director looks likely to exit the film, which is in turmoil given Relativity Media’s recent bankruptcy and backroom chaos, as well as the recent departure of second lead performer Jack Huston (The Longest Ride).

Hardy signed up in December, replacing Rings director Francisco Javier Gutiérrez.

The Crow has been a constantly beleaguered project at Relativity and producer Edward R. Pressman has now filed a legal objection to the film being included in the studio’s list of assets ahead of a potential sale.

Pressman’s objection focuses on the fact that the rights for The Crow revert back to him if principal photography on the film doesn’t start within three years of the deal being originally signed, which is in eighteen months’ time.
