Viola Davis reaffirms Amanda Waller role in Suicide Squad

February 25, 2015 by James Garcia

Viola Davis jumped aboard David Ayer’s Suicide Squad adaptation back in December, and confirmed herself that she was in talks for the role in January. Now, just for good measure, she’s reaffirmed that she will indeed be playing Amanda Waller in DC’s supervillain-centric tentpole.

eTalk caught up with Davis during the 87th Academy Awards this past weekend, and while she was initially a bit hesitant to directly answer the question, she did give a firm “yes” when asked if she was locked in to play Waller.

So, that’s that. It’s officially official. Now we just await the inevitable press release from Warner Bros. officially reaffirming Davis’ official confirmation. Officially.

Suicide Squad is slated for release on August 5th, 2016. Davis joins Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Jared Leto as the Joker, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg.
