Watch the first trailer for Stratton starring Dominic Cooper

August 3, 2017 by Ricky Church

The first trailer for the action thriller Stratton has been released  online by Vertigo Releasing. The film stars Preacher‘s Dominic Cooper as British Special Forces operative John Stratton, and is based on the best selling book series by Duncan Falconer, an ex-SBS (Special Boat Service) commando. Check out the trailer here…

Whilst on a mission targeting a laboratory manufacturing biochemical weapons in Iran, Stratton (Dominic Cooper), a determined and dedicated SBS operative working alongside MI5, and his US counterpart, Navy Seal Marty (Tyler Hoechlin) discover that their operation has been compromised and must escape. In the mayhem that follows, the mission goes spectacularly wrong and Marty is mortally wounded.

Back at base Stratton is summoned by the big boss at MI6. She has received intel that a former Soviet operative – Barovski – has gone rogue. Thought to be dead for the last 20 years, it is believed Barovski has plans to take revenge on his former paymasters by using stolen chemical weapons.

From here on in, Stratton and his team must draw on all their training and experience to race against time and stop the unimaginable happening.

Stratton is set for release on September 1st and sees Simon West (Con Air, The Expendables 2) directing Dominic Cooper (Preacher, Fleming, Mamma Mia!) in the title role alongside Gemma Chan (Humans, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), Austin Stowell (Whiplash, Bridge of Spies), Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Fifty Shades Darker), Tom Felton (Harry Potter, The Flash), Connie Nielsen (Wonder Woman, Justice League), Thomas Kretschmann (Downfall, Valkyrie), Jake Fairbrother (City of Tiny Lights, Skyfall)and Sir Derek Jacobi (Last Tango in Halifax, Cinderella).
