Will Poulter comments on Adam Warlock casting in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

October 22, 2021 by Liam Waddington

Last week, it was announced that Will Poulter had been cast as Adam Warlock for Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and now, the actor has commented on his recent hiring for the upcoming third and final instalment in James Gunn’s trilogy.

During a red carpet interview with Flip Your Wig, Poulter said that he feels “lucky” and “honoured” in being welcomed “into the Marvel family, particularly into a franchise like Guardians of the Galaxy, which I regard to be incredibly creative and very, very unique.” Poulter continued to praise writer and director Gunn by saying he’s someone the actor “really, really admire.”

Adam Warlock was initially announced to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe during a post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when Elizabeth Debecki’s Ayesha hinted at creating Him as a tool to destroy the Guardians. Gunn and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige have both previously stated that Adam will play an important role in the future of the MCU.

While plot details for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are still being kept under wraps, we do know the third film will see the return of Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin and Rocket Raccoon) and Elizabeth Debecki (Ayesha).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set for release on May 5th 2023.
