World of Warships welcomes US Destroyers and Blue Archive Wave 2

July 12, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Wargaming is cruising into summer with a fully-loaded July update for World of Warships.  This latest update features four powerful new U.S. destroyers in Early Access, a fresh wave of Blue Archive content and plenty of quality-of-life improvements. Watch the new trailer below to see more of what’s new for July.

Starting with the firepower, four new American destroyers – Hughes (Tier VII), Osborne (Tier VIII), Christopher (Tier IX), and Burrows (Tier X), are now in Early Access. Starting from Tier VIII, these new ships are equipped with hefty 137mm guns and come with toggleable Smoke Generators and very healthy HP pools, making them artillery-heavy beasts on the high seas. Players will be able to get these via special bundles and by grinding tokens in a new U.S. themed Event Pass and Personal Challenges.

For fans of Blue Archive, the Blue Archive collaboration returns from 9th July to 7th August, adding four new Commanders, four themed ships and a return of fan-favorites like the BA Tirpitz and BA Montana. For a limited-time, the Admiral’s Bundle and the quirky Wishing Wharf mechanic are back as well, letting players chase down exclusive crossover loot.

There are also two new combat mission chains available that will bring more rewards, including special containers, Coal and permanent camouflages. The update also rolls out a sleek UI upgrade, such as an improved Container screen with new animations, a reward tracker and easier mass opening.

Finally, the new ship rotation system and WG’s Temporal Super Sampling tech aim to streamline the shop and boost in-game visuals whilst not destroying the frame rate.

Batten down the hatches, commanders. It’s going to be a busy summer.
