Zack Snyder is ready for a Sucker Punch redo: “I Have The Footage Already Shot”

April 13, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Zack Snyder wants a redo of one of his most infamous movies.

Speaking to Empire, the filmmaker once again talked about his long-standing deserve to revisit Sucker Punch, his 2011 fantasy action film.

“The only movie I would change is Sucker Punch because it never really got finished correctly,” he tells Empire. “Even the director’s cut is not really the correct cut. It’s really just an extended version. If I had the chance, I would fix that movie.”

Snyder claims he has all that he needs to make this happen. “I have the footage already shot; they just have to let me put it together,” he says. We ask every now and then. We have to ask again. I think there has to be a window when no one’s got the movie.”

The filmmaker even jokes, “If they want to start a campaign, that’s alright.” This comment is alluding to the “Release The Snyder Cut” movement, which helped get Zack Snyder’s Justice League released on Max.

Snyder’s next project is Rebel Moon: Part Two—The Scargiver, which will be released on April 19th on Netflix.

REBEL MOON – PART TWO: THE SCARGIVER continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.

Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire is streaming now on Netflix. Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver premieres on Netflix on April 19, 2024.
