Zombieland: Double Tap video game is coming to consoles and PC

July 30, 2019 by Liam Waddington

High Voltage Software is currently developing a new video game set in the world of Zombieland. Titled Zombieland: Double Tap – Road Trip, the game is inspired by the story, characters, humour and horror of Sony Pictures’ original hit film Zombieland and its upcoming sequel Zombieland: Double Tap.

Zombieland: Double Tap – Road Trip is a top-down, twin-stick shooter that takes place after the events of the first movie. The game features four player local co-op multiplayer where you can play as one of the four original heroes from the movie – Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock – as well as unlockable characters from the sequel.

There will be special abilities and the Zombieland “rules” that can be used to stay alive against wave after wave of zombies. Double Tap – Road Trip’s will also include a story-based campaign mode, a wave-based horde mode, and recurring daily and weekly challenges.

This news comes shortly after the first official trailer was dropped for Zombieland 2: Double Tap, which is set to release 10 years after the original Zombieland back in 2009. The sequel stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin, who all reprise their roles as four zombie apocalypse survivors named after cities. The cast also includes Rosario Dawson, Zoey Deutch Luke Wilson, Avan Jogia, and Thomas Middleditch. Maybe these are the unlockable characters for the upcoming game?
