Damian Wayne returning for Damian: Son of Batman

July 5, 2013 by admin

After meeting his maker at the hands of the Heretic in the pages of Grant Morrison’s Batman, Incorpated #8 a couple of months back, Damian Wayne is set to make his return to the DC universe – kind of – as the Boy Wonder takes centre stage in a new four-issue miniseries from Andy Kubert entitled Damian: Son of Batman. However, the character isn’t being resurrected (at least, not yet), with the story taking place in a “possible future that may never be.” Here’s the cover art for issue #1, courtesy of The New York Post…

“I had a big affinity for Damian when I drew Batman issue #666 (in 2007),” Kubert tells the Post. “I really liked that Batman and always wanted to revisit him. Damian is a bit different than the ‘Bruce Wayne’ Batman. Grant Morrison tweaked his character in a way that made it very endearing for me to draw. And to write. Basically, what I’m doing is exploring the path that Damian has taken to become Batman. I think readers will see him in a different light than before.”

Issue #1 of Damian: Son of Batman is set for release on October 30th.
