Winona Ryder talks Beetlejuice sequel

November 20, 2013 by admin

Beetlejuice 2 is all but confirmed with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Dark Shadows writer Seth Grahame-Smith penning the screenplay and both Tim Burton and Michael Keaton looking set to return. Now it seems that Winona Ryder is interested in joining the project as well.

In an interview with The Daily Beast, Ryder said, “I’m kind of sworn to secrecy, but it sounds like it might be happening.” Although she didn’t confirm exactly if she would be reprising her role, she did shed some light on as to when the film will take place: “It’s not a remake, it’s 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later. I would never go near [a sequel] if it was not Tim and Michael, because those guys, I love.”

Beetlejuice wouldn’t be Beetlejuice without Keaton and Burton, but it would be joyous to see Ryder return too…
