UPDATE: The League of Gentlemen set for TV return in 2017

November 22, 2015 by Gary Collinson

It looks like we’ll be taking a trip back to Royston Vasey in 2017, with Mark Gatiss, Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton and Jeremy Dyson set to mark the 20th anniversary of The League of Gentlemen with new episodes.

“I think there’s still an appetite for it, we’re all still great mates and I see no reason why not,” Pemberton tells the Daily Mirror. “We talked about doing a reunion and said, ‘Let’s do it.’ We won’t rush it, we want to do to it properly so it might be a couple of years – but it will happen.”

The League of Gentlemen initially aired on BBC Radio 4 in 1997, before heading to BBC Two for three series, which ran between 1999 and 2002.

UPDATE: It seems the Mirror may have been twisting the truth, with Reece Shearsmith posting on Twitter that: “The story in the paper about the League coming back is not true I’m afraid. Not any time soon anyway.”
