Quentin Tarantino to shoot The Hateful Eight early next year, according to Kurt Russell

July 14, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in January Quentin Tarantino was all set to follow up Django Unchained with another Western – that is until Gawker posted a leaked version of the script for The Hateful Eight online, with Quentin then deciding to take his ball home and put the brakes on the film. A few months later at Cannes, Tarantino revealed that he’d been considering if and how to move forward with the project, which was followed by a rumour that cameras would start rolling in November.

Well, it looks like that rumour was wide of the mark, but only slightly, as Kurt Russell has indicated that The Hateful Eight will go ahead, and is likely to shoot in the early part of 2015, with the Death Proof star telling MyFoxPhilly that “I’ve got a Tarantino project called The Hateful Eight that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year.”

With Russell involved, it’s probably a safe bet that Tarantino will go with the same cast as the live script reading he held in April, which also featured Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Amber Tamblyn, Bruce Dern, James Remar, Dana Hourrier, James Parks, Denis Menochet and Zoe Bell.
