Hugh Jackman talks about the Wolverine/Professor X movie rumour, “I’m not going to deny it”

February 11, 2015 by Luke Owen

A few days ago, buried under the news of Spider-Man joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a rumour surfaced from Patrick Stewart that he would be reprising his role as Charles Xavier/Professor X for the third solo Wolverine movie alongside Hugh Jackman. While nothing is official yet, Jackman himself spoke out about while on a promotional tour for Chappie.

“I’m not going to deny it”, Jackman told JoBlo. “I’ve learned over the years to try and put my best poker face on. By the way, play poker with me if you want to win some money, because I’m terrible. But, I’ve always seen it as a really important relationship, and we started with that and I think it’s a really important one. I think it would be really great to see it in the Wolverine movie, because we haven’t really explored it in the standalone Wolverine movies. So it’s not not not not not going to happen.”

Obviously, that last part is a joke.

Wolverine 3 (which doesn’t have an official title yet) is set for release in March 2017, but before we get there we have X-Men: Apocalypse, which stars the returning Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Evan Peters, Nicholas Hoult and Ian McKellen alongside new additions Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm and Oscar Isaac as villain En Sabah Nur / Apocalypse.
