According to Deadline, MGM’s reboot of the Tomb Raider film franchise has snagged Snow White and the Huntsman scribe Evan Daugherty.
The studio has also teamed with Warner Bros., who will distribute the film.
The Tomb Raider reboot is being made in conjunction with Square Enix, the video game company behind the game series, and is being produced by GK Films’ Denis O’Sullivan, MGM’s Cassidy Lange, and Warner Bros.’ Jon Berg. Story details are sparse, but Deadline reports that it will be an origin story featuring a young Lara Croft going on her first adventure.
Daugherty’s other writing credits include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Divergent, and G.I. Joe 3. So, take this news as you will.
