Bran Stark is coming back for Game of Thrones season 6

July 14, 2015 by Justin Cook

Although Isaac Hempstead Wright’s Bran Stark was benched on Game of Thrones for all of season five, the actor has confirmed to the Irish Examiner that he’s officially coming back next season.

Wright said, “I can’t say a lot, but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions.”

The reason for the character’s absence last season was because his storyline on the show had already caught up to where George R.R. Martin had left off in his A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Kristian Nairn and Ellie Kendrick, who play Hodor and Meera Reed on Game of Thrones, were also nowhere to be found last season. There is no official word on whether or not they’ll be back, but their return seems very likely.

When we last saw Bran, in the season four finale of the show, (spoilers) he had journeyed beyond The Wall to the giant weirwood tree. Upon reaching the tree, his group was attacked by wights, resulting in the death of Jojen, but were lead to the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven.
