During the San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. announced that Alan Moore’s classic Batman tale The Killing Joke is set for an animated adaptation next year. Following the news, many fans expressed their hope that Warner Bros. would enlist Mark Hamill to portray the Clown Prince of Crime in what is widely-regarded as the definitive Joker tale, and the Star Wars: The Force Awakens star has taken to Twitter to admit that he’s got his fingers crossed that he gets the call…

You're not the only one w/ fingers crossed! https://t.co/PcKlgRQFaU

Hamill has previously stated on a number of occasions that he’d love to return to the role of The Joker for Batman: The Killing Joke, with fans even setting up a Facebook page back in 2011 to petition for his casting.

Are you hoping that Hamill lends his voice to The Joker for The Killing Joke, or would you like to see Warner Bros. go in a different direction for the animated movie? Let us know in the comments below…
