Spectre sets the record for vehicular destruction

September 28, 2015 by Robert Kojder

If you thought the level of carnage on display in Furious 7 was out of control, then you’re apparently in store for much more with Spectre, as it had a production budget allowing for the destruction of £24 million-worth of Aston Martin DB10 sports cars alone.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, stunt coordinator Gary Powell spoke on the ridiculous budget while also touching on an extended set-piece across Italy hitting the Vatican and more along the way.

“We set the record for smashing up cars on Spectre. In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film.”

On one last final note, 10 Aston Martin DB10s were created for Spectre; 3 survived.
