The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 more anticipated than Star Wars: The Force Awakens, according to poll

September 24, 2015 by Gary Collinson

We all know that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to shatter box office records when it opens this December, on its way to what is sure to be one of the biggest box office hauls of all time. But, if a new poll is accurate, it’s not the most-anticipated movie set to arrive between now and the New Year, as that honour falls to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

Variety is reporting that cosumer tracking company Piedmont Media Research polled 3000 people about their most-anticipated upcoming release, with Mockingjay – Part 2 scoring a 514 rating out of 1000, the highest rating the company has recorded since starting its polls five years ago. Star Wars: The Force Awakens posted a 495 rating, which is the third-highest number after the final Hunger Games and this year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron (509).

Surely this poll was carried out at a Hunger Games convention, right?

What’s your most anticipated movie still to come out this year? Let us know in the comments below…
