Tomb Raider reboot finds a director and writer

November 17, 2015 by Gary Collinson

It’s been in development for what seems like an eternity, but it looks like the big screen reboot of Tomb Raider is finally starting to move forward.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Roar Uthaug (The Wave) has signed on to direct the project, with Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Transformers 5) also in talks to write the script.

The reboot is being developed by GK Films, who acquired the rights to the franchise from Square Enix back in 2011, and will partnering up with Warner Bros. and MGM to explore Lara Croft’s first adventure.

Tom Raider first hit the big screen back in 2001 with Angelina Jolie taking on the lead role in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, reprising the role two years later for the sequel Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

Are you excited that we might finally get to see Lara Croft back on the big screen? Who would you cast in the role? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
