Sherilyn Fenn confirmed for Twin Peaks return, Laura Dern joins the cast

January 10, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Although there’d been some concern that scheduling conflicts with Shameless would prevent Sherilyn Fenn a return to Twin Peaks, it has now been confirmed that actress has signed on for the upcoming event series and will reprise the role of Audrey Horne, where she’ll be a “major presence.”

Meanwhile, TV Line is also reporting that Laura Dern has been cast in a mystery role, with speculation suggesting that she could be playing Diane, the unseen secretary to Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). Dern previously worked with MacLachlan and director David Lynch on Blue Velvet, while Lynch also directed her in Wild at Heart and Inland Empire.

Other newcomers to the cast of the Twin Peaks revival include Jennifer Jason Leigh, Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty and Amanda Seyfried, while Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) is expected to return alongside the likes of David Patrick Kelly (Jerry Horne), Richard Beymer (Ben Horne), Miguel Ferrer (Albert Rosenfield) and Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs).
