Thor’s Jaimie Alexander talking to Warner Bros. about Batman vs. Superman?

November 2, 2013 by admin

Thor: The Dark World star Jaimie Alexander has already expressed an interest in swapping the Marvel universe for the DC universe, following up the role of Lady Sif with that of Wonder Woman, and if her comments at Stan Lee’s Comikaze in Los Angeles are to be believed – and the rumoured cameo from the Amazon Princess in Batman vs. Superman is true – then the actress and comic book fan may be one step closer to achieving her ambition.

According to Forbes’ Mark Hughes, Jaimie Alexander has revealed at the convention that she has been having “conversations” with Warner Bros. and DC and “also knows things” about the plot for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. If that’s the case, then Alexander is surely one of only a few people who do know details about Batman vs. Superman, but of course even if she is talking to the studio, there’s nothing to say at this point that the role in question is that of Wonder Woman. Still, if it is, then there are certainly worse candidates out there.

Update: Forbes has now posted some further comments from Jaimie Alexander from after the panel, during which he specifically asked if she was referring to Wonder Woman:

“I would love for DC to put Wonder Woman in one of their upcoming flicks, either in her own movie or Batman vs. Superman, or just something even to introduce her… Being in the comic book world, we know a lot of the same people at DC and Marvel, so we hear a lot of things, but it’s all speculation right now. But I would absolutely love that [Wonder Woman appearing in one of the upcoming films]. Thankfully and gratefully, I’m appreciative to the people who ask my opinion of the character, and that’s been pretty amazing.”

Batman vs. Superman will be directed by Zack Snyder from a script by David S. Goyer, with Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne / Batman) joining the cast alongside Henry Cavill (Clark Kent / Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), and Lawrence Fishburne (Perry White). The film is set for release on July 17th, 2015.
