Sony planning a Jump Street / Men in Black crossover

December 10, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Earlier today we brought you some news about Sony’s past, present and future plans for The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, including the revelation that Marvel Studios tried to get the wall-crawler to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, which stemmed from leaked emails from the studio’s motion picture chief Amy Pascal.

Since then, more details about the studio’s franchise plans have emerged, including news that Sony plans to combine the Jump Street and Men in Black franchises with a 22 Jump Street sequel that will see Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s Schmidt and Jenko interacting with characters from the Men in Black universe.

At this point details are scarce, although Phil Lord and Chris Miller are reportedly attached to produce and possibly direct, while it is said that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be absent from the cast, in prominent roles at least. The studio is eyeing a potential 2016 or 2017 release date, and is yet to have a script for the project, instead choosing to green light it based upon the concept, and the talent involved.

Are you excited for a Jump Street / Men in Black crossover? Let us know your thoughts…
