Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 finds its director

December 5, 2014 by admin

Despite all the claims and promises Jonathan Liebesman made about a sequel for this summer’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it seems as though he won’t be back for another outing.

Instead, Variety are reporting that David Green (Earth to Echo) will take over the director’s chair for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles earned around $477 million worldwide and Paramount announced a sequel for the movie on its weekend opening, despite not having the cast confirmed to return, a director, or a script in place.

No details on plot for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 have been announced, but Megan Fox, who played April O’Neil in the original, hinted that there were Easter Eggs in the movie to suggest that Bebop and Rockstead would feature. In fact, concept art was leaked online a few months back that suggested both Bebop and Rocksteady would be in the sequel, along with alien warlord Krang.

Directed by Jonathan Leibesman (Wrath of the Titans) and produced by Michael Bay (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox (Transformers) as April O’Neil, Pete Ploszek (Parks and Recreation) and Johnny Knoxville (Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa) as Leonardo, Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) as Raphael, Jeremy Howard (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Donatello, Noel Fisher (Battle Los Angeles) as Michaelangelo, Danny Woodburn (Seinfeld) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) as Splinter, William Fichtner (The Dark Knight) as Eric Sachs, Will Arnett (The LEGO Movie) as Vernon Fenwick, Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) as Bernadette Thompson, and K. Todd Freeman (The Dark Knight) as Baxter Stockman.
