Will Ferrell causes mayhem at basketball game for new comedy Daddy’s Home

January 23, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

For a few moments on Wednesday night across the pond, it seemed that Will Ferrell had gone a few steps too far. Coverage on all of the major US news networks were running footage of the comedian causing havoc at last night Los Angeles Lakers game as they took on New Orleans Pelicans, but somehow unbeknown to them, Ferrell’s antics were all in the name of comedy.

Shooting scenes for his new film, Daddy’s Home, Ferrell took to the court during the half-time break to shake things up, including throwing a basketball straight into the face of a cheerleader, and causing quite a reaction across all social media platforms. You can see some fan videos and pictures of Ferrell’s antics here…

The new film sees Ferrell re-team with his The Other Guys co-star Mark Wahlberg (The Gambler). Ferrell plays a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s (Linda Cardellini, Mad Men) two children, but complications ensue when their real father (Wahlberg) arrives, forcing him to compete for the affection of the kids.

Daddy’s Home is set for release towards the end of 2015, but if you can’t wait that long to see Ferrell back in action, he teams with Kevin Hart (The Wedding Ringer) and Alison Brie (Community) in Get Hard, released in March.
