Daniel Cudmore reveals that Colossus will be recast in Deadpool

February 17, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Last week when it was announced that Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) had signed on to join Ryan Reynolds in the cast of Deadpool, it was also revealed that Colossus will feature as a character in the Merc With the Mouth’s solo movie.

Naturally this led many to assume than Daniel Cudmore would be reprising the role of Peter Rasputin, but it seems that’s not the case as Cudmore has now revealed that the character will be recast for the 2016 release.

“Thanks everyone for all the support for me to reprise the role of Colossus in Deadpool but unfortunately it won’t be happening for me,” states Cudmore on Twitter. “I’ve had a blast playing such an awesome character over the years. Deadpool will be kick-ass with Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds.”

Are you disappointed that Cudmore won’t be back as Colossus, and who would you like to see cast in the role?
