Elizabeth Perkins joins AMC’s Preacher pilot

April 20, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Following on from the news that Dominic Cooper (Agent Carter) has officially signed on as Rev. Jesse Custer in AMC’s Preacher adaptation, it has now been announced that Elizabeth Perkins (Big, Weeds) has secured a co-starring role in the pilot.

According to Deadline, Perkins will play Vyla Quinncannon, “a genteel but formidable businesswoman who owns the local slaughterhouse in Annville. Ambitious, strong-willed and terrifying, Vyla shares a past with Jesse’s father which gives her a singular hold over Jesse.”

The Preacher pilot has been adapted by The Interview duo Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, along with with Breaking Bad’s Sam Catlin. Joining Cooper and Perkins in the cast are Ruth Negga (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Tulip, Ian Colletti (Rake) as Arseface, Joseph Gilgun (This Is England) as Cassidy and Lucy Griffiths (True Blood) as the original character Emily Woodrow.
