Tyler Perry to play Baxter Stockman in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

April 24, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Variety is reporting that Gone Girl star Tyler Perry is set to play Baxter Stockman in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

Stockman first appeared in the original Mirage Comics where he was depicted as an African American scientist, but was changed into a white character for the original animated series. Stockman also invents the robotic, turtle-hunting Mousers in the comics.

Michael Bay co-produces again through his Platinum Dunes company, with Earth to Echo director David Green taking over behind the camera from Jonathan Liebesman. Megan Fox returns as April O’Neill, as does William Fichtner (Eric Sacks) and Will Arnett (Vernon Fenwick), while Stephen Amell (Arrow) joins the cast as Casey Jones and Alessandra Ambrosio (Casino Royale) will play Vernon’s girlfriend.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set for release on June 3rd, 2016.
