As Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gears up for its season two finale this coming Tuesday, ABC has confirmed that it has renewed the Marvel series for a third season, as well as picking up a second run of episodes for the Hayley Atwell-headlined Agent Carter.
However, if you were looking forward to seeing the network’s planned S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off centring on Mockingird (Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood) then I’m afraid you’re out of luck, as Deadline is reporting that ABC has put the project on hold. However, the fate of John Ridley’s Marvel TV project is unclear, with his commitments to the second season of American Crime possibly preventing it from moving ahead at this time.
