Is Silent Hills being resurrected as an Xbox One exclusive?

May 30, 2015 by Robert Kojder

Silent Hills was reportedly canceled much to the disappointment of many gamers and critics around the world, but a resurrection might be brewing.

YouTube channel The Know is claiming that Microsoft is looking to spend billions of dollars to revive the project from the dead and secure it as an Xbox One exclusive. At first glance, a YouTube channel might not seem like the most reliable source but they were recently right with a news tip on a new Xbox One model.

Seeing as Kojima has had a falling out with Konami (Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will apparently be his swan song for the company) it is unclear what role he will play going forward, but it should be a given that Guillermo del Toro will climb back aboard. The same notion of uncertainty applies for Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead). What we do know is that the game is apparently 80% finished, so it’s possible their input and contributions have already been fulfilled.

The most tantalizing piece of information however is that if this rumor is true and indeed announced at E3 2015, Silent Hills is slated for a March 2016 release.
