Rumour: Ben Affleck will direct The Batman for 2018 release

June 24, 2015 by admin

When it was announced a couple of years ago (has it really been that long?!) that Ben Affleck would be our new Dark Knight for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it was always assumed that he would direct his solo Batman movie.

According to the sources for rumour-mongers Latino Review (who have been very shaky as of late with their scoops), Ben Affleck will indeed direct a solo movie under the title The Batman, scheduled for release in late 2018. The website also claims that this news will be announced at San Diego Comic Con. Not only that, but The Batman will be written by Affleck’s Argo buddy Chris Terrio.

2018 sees Warner Bros. release The Flash starring Ezra Miller and Aquaman starring Jason Mamoa. If The Batman is to be released in late-2018, we could see another DC/Marvel showdown as it goes up against Captain Marvel.

As always, this is unconfirmed for the moment, so take this all with a pinch of salt.
