Back in April it was revealed that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig were working on a top secret project for Lifetime, with the duo subsequently indicating that they’d scrapped their plans for the TV movie A Deadly Adoption as a result of details leaking online. Well, it seems that the movie has gone ahead, and will air on the network on June 20th…
THR reports that A Deadly Adoption is a “dramatic thriller as a successful couple who house and care for a pregnant woman (played by 90210 alum Jessica Lowndes) in the hopes of adopting her unborn child — then things quickly go awry. The movie is described as a campy, fun, contemporary wink at the genre, and it comes as Lifetime is poised to mark the 25th anniversary of its TV movie business.”
A Deadly Adoption is directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Escape From Polygamy, Love at the Christmas Table) from a a script by Andrew Steele (The Spoils of Babylon).
