Ciarán Foy to direct The Shee

August 20, 2015 by Joshua Gill

Deadline has revealed that Ciarán Foy (Citadel) is set to direct the horror film The Shee for Blumhouse Productions.

Blumhouse Productions, fronted by Jason Blum, have worked with Foy recently on the upcoming sequel to their 2012 horror hit Sinister. Their latest partnership will see the creation of another supernatural horror feature, this time set on a haunted Irish island.

The story will follow the exploits of a troubled young woman in the 1960’s, seeking the solace of the island to deal with her tragic past, and her encounters with the supernatural race The Shee. The title, taken from Gaelic mythology, refers to a supernatural race of elves that live in an invisible ether between our world and the next, worshipped by pagans and the occult.
