Vin Diesel says next Fast & Furious movie is titled Fast 8

August 17, 2015 by Justin Cook

On Sunday, Vin Diesel may have let the title of the next Fast & Furious movie slip while accepting a Teen Choice Award for Furious 7 in the Choice Movie Action/Adventure category.

At the end of his acceptance speech on behalf of the film’s cast, Diesel said, “I love all of you. I love all of you! And… until Fast 8.”

If the film does wind up being titled Fast 8, it will be the second title in the franchise to have only the word “Fast” come before the number, following 2011’s Fast Five.

In his speech, Diesel also spoke about the passing of his friend and franchise star Paul Walker. “I can’t stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us. One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we had the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us,” said Diesel.

As of now, Diesel, Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson are all expected to return to the franchise for the eighth installment, which will hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
