With the final part of Kevin Smith’s True North Trilogy set to go into production soon with Moose Jaws, longtime fans of the director’s work were pleased to hear that Jay and Silent Bob would be making their return to the big screen. However, we may have some bad news.
“I just finished writing the scene where — spoilers — Silent Bob gets eaten by the moose,” he told news.com.au. “That’s how he fucking goes out!”
“Isn’t that fun? I was talking to Jay about Moose Jaws and I’m like, ‘I’m thinking about bringing us in as the Captain Quint character’,” Smith continued. “And he goes, ‘Yeah, but Quint gets killed!’ I was like, ‘One of us has to get eaten’. And he was like, ‘You. Not me’. I was like, ‘Why?’ And he was like, ‘Because I wanna be in other movies!’ Fair enough, dude. So, rather than let him go out with dignity he’ll be eaten by a fucking moose.”
Smith’s next movie is Yoga Hosers, which sees Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith and Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp leading the cast as convenience store clerks Colleen Collette and Colleen McKenzie, who team up with Depp’s Guy Lapointe in order to battle an ancient evil. Also featuring in the cast are Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the new Black), Austin Butler (Aliens in the Attic), Adam Brody (The O.C.), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series), Stan Lee (Mallrats) and Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back), along with Tusk stars Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman and Harley Morenstein.
