Responding to a critical Twitter user, Feig said that “enough is enough” regarding criticism of the film before anyone has seen any footage.

You all have no idea what we did, so stop acting like you do. Enough is enough. Just let this movie happen. #enough https://t.co/lBZGHaNEbz

Feig also noted that the numerous reports of Ghostbusters cameos have been leaks rather than deliberate releases, writing that he “really wanted these cameos to be surprises”.

Feig’s rebooted version of the 1984 classic is due in July 15th 2016, starring Melissa McCarthy (Spy), Leslie Jones (Top Five), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) and Kristen Wiig (The Martian) as the spook-fighting team.
