Rumour: Warner Bros. wants more Batman and less Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

September 8, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

New rumours have surfaced regarding Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ upcoming blockbuster Batman Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Heroic Hollywood claiming that the studio wants more Batman and less Superman in the film. The following should be taken with a pinch of salt the size of Affleck in the new Bat-suit…

With the film just six months away from release, the studio reportedly requested that the movie feature more of Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight and less of Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel. Word is that Affleck is hugely impressive in the role and is “blowing Henry Cavill right off the screen.”

Whether or not a film titled Batman v Superman needs less of one and more of the other remains to be seen, but it may disappoint some fans to learn of Warner’s alleged intentions. Still, for now take this as rumour and nothing more.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release on March 25th 2016 and sees Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) and Christina Wren (Carrie Farris) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) and Scoot McNairy (Argo) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
