According to Collider, Zack Snyder could be returning to the world of Watchmen, with the site reporting that the filmmaker has been having discussions with HBO about returning to the world of Alan Moore’s seminal superhero saga on the small screen.
No further details are provided, although the report does go on to speculate that the TV series could by looking to adapt DC’s eight 2012 prequel titles Before Watchmen, which would certainly make sense given that Snyder has already tackled the original tale.
Now, quite how the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director would manage to juggle this with his DC Cinematic Universe commitments is anyone’s guess…
UPDATE: HBO has confirmed the report to Deadline, stating that: “Preliminary discussions regarding Watchmen have occurred, but we have no additional information and no deals are in place.”
