Lawrence made the comments as part of a Q&A with her and Russell following a screening of Joy in New York City.

“I’ll do anything with you until you die,” she told the director, adding “it’s sweet and fucked up”.

Lawrence is being tipped to secure yet another Oscar nomination for Joy, in which she plays American inventor Joy Mangano and traces the process of building her business empire.

The star has been nominated for an Oscar for both of her previous collaborations with Russell, winning Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook and securing a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her work in American Hustle.

Joy will be released in the US on Christmas Day before hitting UK cinemas on New Year’s Day 2016.
