The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 makes it four in a row at the UK box office

UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 11th December to Sunday 13th December 2015…

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 has topped the UK box office for the fourth week in a row, becoming the first film since Les Miserables in February 2013 to do so.

Mockingjay’s £1.29 million haul is the lowest for a number one film this year, while the weekend also marked the first time in 2015 that no newcomers managed to crack the top ten, with distributors striving to steer clear of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

4. Bridge of Spies, £783,293 weekend; £5,429,463 total (3 weeks)
5. Christmas with the Coopers, £467,583 weekend; £1,437,439 total (2 weeks)
6. The Lady in the Van, £321,592 weekend; £11,261,950 total (5 weeks)
7. Black Mass, £292,142 weekend; £2,959,971 total (3 weeks)
