Edward Holcroft to return for Kingsman 2

March 19, 2016 by Justin Cook

While many believed that his character was killed during the climax of last year’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, according to Deadline, Edward Holcroft will be reprising his role as Charlie Hesketh in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman 2.

Hesketh was a handpicked recruit who goes through part of the training to become a Kingsman agent, but is eventually sent home after failing the train test. Later on in the film, Eggsy fights him at Richmond Valentine’s party, where he is electrocuted and presumably killed when all of the guests’ chip implants go off and their heads explode.

Outside of Kingsman, the actor has a few notable film and TV credits to his name, such as Vampire Academy, London Spy and the Golden Globe-winning Wolf Hall. In 2016, he can be seen starring alongside Jim Broadbent, Michelle Dockery, Emily Mortimer and more in The Sense of an Ending.

Matthew Vaughn is set to return to the director’s chair for Kingsman 2, the sequel to his surprise 2015 hit, which features an ever-expanding cast that includes Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Edward Holcroft, Julianne Moore and Halle Berry. The film will arrive in theaters on June 16th, 2017.
