Emma Stone and Jonah Hill to re-team for TV series Maniac

Deadline is reporting that Emma Stone (Birdman) and Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street) are set to star in a new series called Maniac, in production at Paramount TV.

The show, which will see the Superbad co-stars reuniting, is based on a 2014 Norwegian series about “a guy who lives a fantasy life in his dreams but in reality is locked up at an institution.”

The site reports that the producers are eyeing a straight-to-series order for the show (which could run for two seasons) with True Detective and Beasts of No Nation director Cary Fukunaga helming all of the episodes. A writer still yet to be announced.

Hill will next be seen in Todd Phillips’ War Dogs, while Stone will appear in Whiplash director Damien Chazelle’s new film La La Land later in the year, opposite Ryan Gosling.
