Boundless Pictures has announced that British action star Scott Adkins has signed on for the lead role in the upcoming action film The Returner, which is being directed by William Kaufman (Sinners and Saints) from a script by Chad Law (Drive Hard).

THE RETURNER follows John Piper, the owner of a speakeasy who, after refusing to carry Al Capone’s liquor during Prohibition, is brutally murdered, along with his family, by Capone and his gang. Piper mysteriously returns from death, a revenant, with nine lives to exact his vengeance, find peace and perhaps alter the course of history as we know it.
