Warning: This post contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens if you’ve still not seen it…

We’ve got some more details on those deleted scenes from The Force Awakens, Harrison Ford discussing Han Solo’s fate in the movie and your usual Star Wars Rebels and comic book previews in The Week in Star Wars…

Kicking things off this week with Harrison Ford talking about the fate of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You may recall that everyone’s favourite smuggler was killed on the Starkiller Base at the hands of his son Kylo Ren at the end of the movie, and long-time fans of the series will know that Ford has been trying to get his character killed off since The Empire Strikes Back. Well, in a Q&A session this week, Ford reiterated this position. “I think it’s a fitting use of the character,” he said. “I’ve been arguing for Han Solo to die for about 30 years, not because I was tired of him or because he’s boring, but his sacrifice for the other characters would lend gravitas and emotional weight.” Not sure that his death added any emotional weight, but at least Ford can now focus on his fresh new upcoming projects like Indiana Jones 5 and Blade Runner 2. Oh, wait…

…With the Blu-ray release just around the corner, rumours of those deleted scenes have been running rampent over the last few issues of The Week in Star Wars. Well, we now have the official list which you can read here along with some new images from the film and see a few glimpses of them in this trailer. Looking at the list, it looks like that rumour of Rey’s Vision showing the Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader fight on Bespin was a load of old rubbish. Not only that, but they don’t sound overly interesting…

…Speaking of the special features, and you can watch a clip from the behind-the-scenes feature that offers a peek at Lupita Nyong’o’s performance capture work as Maz Kanata…

…If you fancied a full-scale First Order Stormtrooper to have round the house (that’s around six and a half foot), soon you can…

…The first gameplay trailer arrived online for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which promises to take you into the best moments of December’s blockbuster as well as expanding upon the smaller characters who were not explored in the film. Check it out here…

…Moving over to Star Wars Rebels now, and you watch watch a clip of last week’s episode ‘The Mystery of Chopper Base’ here…

…Disney XD released a clip and batch of images from Wednesday’s hotly-anticipated season two finale of Star Wars Rebels, ‘Twilight of the Apprentice’, which sees the return of the former Sith Lord Darth Maul; check them out here……

…Ahead of its release this May, Penguin Random House has released an official synopsis for Star Wars: Bloodline, the new novel from Claudia Gray (Star Wars: Lost Stars), which takes place prior to the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and focuses on Leia Organa. The synopsis reads: When the Rebellion defeated the Empire in the skies above Endor, Leia Organa believed it was the beginning to a lasting peace. But after decades of vicious infighting and partisan gridlock in the New Republic Senate, that hope seems like a distant memory. Now a respected senator, Leia must grapple with the dangers that threaten to cripple the fledgling democracy—from both within and without. Underworld kingpins, treacherous politicians, and Imperial loyalists are sowing chaos in the galaxy. Desperate to take action, senators are calling for the election of a First Senator. It is their hope that this influential post will bring strong leadership to a divided galaxy. As the daughter of Darth Vader, Leia faces with distrust the prospect of any one person holding such a powerful position—even when supporters suggest Leia herself for the job. But a new enemy may make this path Leia’s only option. For at the edges of the galaxy, a mysterious threat is growing…

…Marvel has announced that it will celebrate Star Wars Day on May the 4th with True Believers: Star Wars, offering ten titles for just $1 apiece. “TRUE BELIEVERS are the perfect way for readers to jump headfirst into the exciting world of Marvel’s Star Wars titles,” the press release reads. “Follow the adventures of Luke, Han, Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and more – it’s never been easier to get caught up with these exciting jumping on points. That’s all for this week – may The Force be with you. And don’t forget to pre-order Star Wars: The Force Awakens via Amazon UK or Amazon US…
