Gal Gadot says the Wonder Woman movie will be “pretty dark”

April 11, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Following criticism of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s been a lot of speculation suggesting that Warner Bros. will look to “lighten” the dark tone that Zack Snyder has established for the DC Extended Universe.

Although Jai Courtney and David Ayer have both denied the rumours suggesting the reason for the current reshoots on Suicide Squad is to add more humour to the movie, producer Deborah Snyder has already admitted that Justice League will be lighter in tone that Batman v Superman.

Before we get to Justice League, Gal Gadot is set to reprise the role of Diana of Themyscira for the Wonder Woman movie, and the Israeli actress has been speaking to Digital Spy about the film, stating that while it has some humour, the Amazon Princess’ solo movie will be “pretty dark”.

“In Batman v Superman, you get a glimpse of who she is but not where she comes from,” states Gadot. “In Wonder Woman, this would be the first time we ever tell the coming-of-age story of how Diana becomes Wonder Woman. It’s very interesting. It has moments of humor, but it’s pretty dark.”
