Spike TV gives series order to Stephen King adaptation The Mist

April 17, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in February it was announced that Spike TV had given the go ahead to a pilot for a new small screen adaptation of Stephen King’s The Mist, and now Deadline is reporting that the network has been impressed enough by to place a straight to series order.

“From the brilliant mind of Stephen King and the incredible production team at TWC-Dimension TV, The Mist will take audiences on a thrilling ride through a small town grappling with a mysterious and shocking horror,” said Sharon Levy, EVP, Original Series, Spike TV. “[Writer and executive producer Christian Torpe] and the entire team at TWC-Dimension TV have crafted the framework for a compelling and distinctive series that will resonate with Spike’s expanding audience.”

We’ve had an incredible experience developing The Mist series with Christian, Sharon and her team and are eager to make this series a signature show for Spike,” adds Bob Weinstein, Co-Chairman of The Weinstein Company and Dimension, who produced the 2007 movie adaptation alongside director Frank Darabont.
